Facts and Events
Joanna Grubb was baptised on 4th July 1740 at St Ive in east Cornwall, daughter of Richard Grubb and his wife Sarah Crew. She was the second of the couple's four children. In 1749, when Joanna was nearly nine years old, her father Richard died. Joanna had a daughter, Sarah, who was baptised at St Ive on 1st January 1756, when Joanna was fifteen years old. Four years later Joanna married a James Collins at the neighbouring parish of South Hill. They had a daughter baptised at South Hill in 1762, then moved to the nearby town of Callington. At Callington they had a son, James, in 1764, but he appears to have died as a baby. They then had a daughter, Grace, in 1766. Joanna has yet to be traced after the baptism of Grace in 1766.
