graduated at Yale College

Jessup graduated in 1802, and in 1804 removed to Chillicothe, Ohio, where he practised law until his appointment as Judge of the Superior Court of Ohio in 1815. This office he continued to hold until his death in 1821. In the War of 1812 he was also aide-de-camp to Governor Meigs, of Ohio, and bearer of dispatches to General Hull.
