"Coldwater: Jessie May WARDWELL, 80, formerly of Albion and Adrian areas, died April 13, 1998, at the Laurels of Coldwater.

She was born Sept. 15, 1917, a daughter of Welcome B. and Etolia M. (ROBINSON) Gray. In 1935 she graduated from Adrian High School.

She married Meriel WARDWELL, who died in 1974.

Surviving are one daughter, Julia NICKLES of Coldwater; one son, Dale E. WARDWELL; one sister, Pearl TIEDE of Adrian; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, one sister, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Relatives and friends may call at the George White Funeral Home of Litchfield from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the graveside services at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Homer. The Rev. Clyde Wonders will officiate.
