Jesse's wife Charity died June 5, 1880 leaving Jesse with a month old son. A couple of houses from Jesse is his soon to be wife Sarah Camp. Her first husband Joseph Camp had died leaving her wwith a baby son Joey. Sarah was from Whitley County, Kentucky, which is next to Knox. Her mother's family was from Knox County, so it is quite possible that Jesse knew Sarah nee Evans from Kentucky. It is most likely Sarah nursed Owen for Jesse, there is no proof of this though. Jesse married Sarah (Evans) Camp either December 8, 1881 per the Amos Dugger family sheet or December 11, 1881 per the Parke CO., Indiana Marriage Book 7, page 458. Jesse, Sarah, Owen and daughter; Nora all left Parke CO., Indiana in 1883 with Jesse's father Amos Dugger in ox drawn wagons for Reno CO., Kansas. Moving on to Franklin Twp., Edwards CO., Kansas in the spring of 1885.
In the 1895 Kansas State Census Jesse and family are living in Franklin, Edwards County, Kansas.
