Jesse Fowler Dugger was born January 9, 1848 in Knox County, Kentucky. He is a proven son of Amos B. and Sarah Owens Dugger. He is listed as living with his parents on the 1850 Federal Census and with his father on the 1870 Federal Census. Jesse is also proven through his children which knew their grandfather. His birth date is proven through daughter Nora Dugger Trotter, his tombstone, his burial card filed in the Kinsley, Kansas Public Library and his Obiuary. He is listed with his parents on the 1850 Federal Census in Knox CO., Kentucky. 7th Census of the United States - 1850 Knox Co, KY Page 379, House # 818, Family # 834 Dugger Jesse F age 2, Male, White, born KY On the 1860 Federal Census Jesse and his younger siblings are listed in the home of Silas Richardson, a mulatto living near Amos and Sarah. Silas's family is listed with Jesse's parents. Why they are listed with Silas is unknown.
In 1863 Jesse left Kentucky with his parents and siblings for Monroe CO., Indiana then Parke CO. On the 1870 Federal Census Jesse is listed with his father, Amos and siblings. 9th Census of the United States - 1870 Bridgeton, Raccoon Twp., Parke Co, IN Page 148, Dwelling # 22 Dugger Amos. age 56, Male, White, Farmer, born NC Dugger Jess F., age 21, Male, White, Works on Farm, born KY Jesse married Charity S. Miller October 31, 1878 in Parke CO., Indiana. This date is given on the Amos Dugger family sheet written by Jesse's granddaughters Leoma Trotter Smith and Ester Trotter Stinson. On the 1880 Federal Census Jesse and family are in Jackson, Parke County, Indiana.
Jesse's wife Charity died June 5, 1880 leaving Jesse with a month old son. A couple of houses from Jesse is his soon to be wife Sarah Camp. Her first husband Joseph Camp had died leaving her wwith a baby son Joey. Sarah was from Whitley County, Kentucky, which is next to Knox. Her mother's family was from Knox County, so it is quite possible that Jesse knew Sarah nee Evans from Kentucky. It is most likely Sarah nursed Owen for Jesse, there is no proof of this though. Jesse married Sarah (Evans) Camp either December 8, 1881 per the Amos Dugger family sheet or December 11, 1881 per the Parke CO., Indiana Marriage Book 7, page 458. Jesse, Sarah, Owen and daughter; Nora all left Parke CO., Indiana in 1883 with Jesse's father Amos Dugger in ox drawn wagons for Reno CO., Kansas. Moving on to Franklin Twp., Edwards CO., Kansas in the spring of 1885. In the 1895 Kansas State Census Jesse and family are living in Franklin, Edwards County, Kansas.
Jesse and family are on the 1900 Federal Census living next to his father Amos and nephew James Thomas in Franklin Twp., Edwards County, Kansas.

In the 1920 Federal Census Jesse is living in Fellsburg, Franklin Twp. , Edwards County, Kansas. Jessie F. Dugger, Head, age 72, Widowed, Born Kentucky, Father born North Carolina, Mother born Kentucky Jesse lived the rest of his life out on his farm in Fellsburg. His granddaughter, Edna Trotter Geraghty rembered her mother Nora Dugger Trotter taking her sister Marie and her to stay at the farm and help take care of Jesse. He died March 17, 1925 per his tombstone, Amos Dugger Family sheet, his granddaughters, his obituary, and his burial card in the Kinsley, Kansas Public Library. References
