    73 of Surprise passed away at his home November 7, 2009, surrounded by his family. Jerry was born November 26, 1935 in Guthrie Center, Iowa the son of Maxwell & Dorothy McCabe McLuen. The family moved to Arizona that same year. Following High School Jerry enlisted in the US Air Force and served during the Korean War as a Communications Runner. He retired from the Post Office. Jerry was a member of Teamsters Union, Disabled Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign War and the Fifth Communications Group 934th Signal Battalion. Jerry was rarely seen without wearing his Koran War Veteran ball cap, he was proud to have served his country. He loved spending time with his family, raising animals, and was almost always involved in some kind of small business. He always told a good story and was a gentle man. He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory a wife of 46 years Judy McLuen; and his legacy lives on in his son Rocky McLuen, son & daughter-in-law Troy and Kimberly McLuen; daughter & fiance Tamra McLuen & Michael Cuthbert; daughter Jerrie Marie Freshly; six grandchildren Christopher, Shawn, Courtney, Madison, Emma, Tyler; great granddaughter Sarah; and extended family Jay, Sara and Brittyn Taylor. Services will be 9:30 A.M. Saturday, November 14, 2009, Christ's Church of the Valley, 7007 West Happy Valley Road, Peoria, AZ 85383, Officiating, Mike McClain Neighborhood Pastor. Interment with Military Honors 2:30 P.M. Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 East Shea Blvd, Scottsdale AZ 85260.
