[edit] Revolutionary War Pension InformationInformation from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 6, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. : Wright, Jarrett - born 3/29/1758 in Lunenburg County, Virginia, son of Joseph, where he entered service in 1776 as drummer in Virginia regiment; served at Battles of Monmouth, Stony Point, Paulus Hook & Guilford Courthouse; moved after Revolutionary War to Halifax County, Virginia, for abt. 7 years, thence to Caswell County, North Carolina, thence to Kentucky, where applied for Pension 1833 in Allen County; died 12/20/1833; married 8/1781 to Elizabeth, who was granted Pension age 80 in Allen County, Kentucky, 1839; Herbert & Griffin Wright (both no kinship given) made affidavit then; John Wright (no kinship given) resided there then age 67, when he was a leading member of Methodist church. [edit] Notes1810 Warren Cnty., KY Census. 1815 Allen Cnty., KY tax list. Jarrett Wright lived with his father, Joseph, until he enlisted in the Revolutionary War in 1777. He served for 3 years, 5 months, and 2 weeks.He first served as a drummer boy but attained the rank of corporal. He fought in the Battles of Monmouth, Stony Point, and Fowlers hood. He spent the winter of 1777-78 in Valley Forge under the command of General George Washington. I have also found indications that Jarrett Wright may have had brothers; John, Joseph, and James. Jarrett and Elizabeth (Griffin) Wright lived in Lunenburg Cnty., VA, then Halifax Cnty., VA for 7 years, then Caswell Cnty., NC, and then Warren Cnty., KY. Jarrett was given 200 acres of land in what is now the state of KY forhis services as a Virginian Patriot. His land was located on Trammel Creek in Warren Cnty., KY, which became Allen Cnty., KY in 1815. DAR Applications proved to Jarret Wright include:
