Watson | South Hylton | Potter | Wm Henry Bulmer, P. Curate | Jane appears to have been baptised a second time when she was two and a half, on the same day that her younger brother John was baptised. Her birth certificate and two baptisms each give a different date of birth for her, but that on her birth certificate is considered most accurate, as her birth was registered only two days after the date of birth quoted on the certificate. Indeed, the date quoted on Jane's first baptism cannot be correct, as her birth had already been registered on 29 Dec 1837, so she cannot have been born on 27 Jan 1838.BAPTISMS solemnized in the Chapelry of South Hylton in the County of Durham in the Year 1840 | No. | When Baptized | Child's Christian Name | Parent's Name | Abode | Quality, Trade, or Profession | By whom the Ceremony was performed | Christian | Surname | 804 | Nov[embe]r 22nd Born Dec[embe]r 25th 1837 | Jane D[aughte]r of | John & Jane | Cooper
