County and State.
James Wallace & Agness his wife, Robert Peery & Isabella his wife, Robert Wallace & Sarah his wife, Robert Campbell & Rebecca his wife, & Thomas Hutson & Mary his wife for the sum of £50 paid by said Wm. Winegar acknowledge acquit exonerate & discharge the sd. Wm. Winegar hat granted bargained & sold aliened & confirmed do grant bargain & sell alien and confirm unto ÒyeÓ sd Wm Winegar on tract of land containing 161 acres. On the South side of Walkers Creek in Rockbridge County, VA.
Beginning at a Walnut & birch near a spring corner to Hugh Scots land and with his lines, S 33 deg, E 116 poles to a small walnut, S 35 deg,, W 35 poles to a chestnut, SE 78 poles to a white oak & black oak corner to Andrew Kenaday's land and with his line, S 20 deg, W 111 poles to a hickory & 2 white oaks, NW 210 poles to a black oak & chestnut oak corner to sd. Kennedy, N 36 deg, 93 poles, N 40 deg, W 44 poles to a Dogwood Gum & chestnut oak, NE 73 poles to a white walnut, S 46 deg, E 27 poles to the beginning.
Land now in possession of Wm. Winegar with all houses ways, easements, and advantages whatsoever to the land and premises or in anyways appertaining to the Estate, right, title, interest, claim and demand of the said James Wallace & Agness his wife, Robert Peery & Isabella his wife, Robert Wallace & Sarah his wife, Robert Campbell & Rebecca his wife, & Thomas Hutson & Mary his wife and their heirs. They are to forever defend the title. John Walker by virtue of Power of Attorney on Record in the County Court of Fayette in the State of Kentucky dated 16 June 1795 set and affixed the seals of James Wallace & Agness his wife, Robert Peery & Isabella his wife, Robert Wallace & Sarah his wife, Robert Campbell & Rebecca his wife, & Thomas Hutson & Mary his wife.

James Wallace & Agness his wife, Robert Peery & Isabella his wife, Robert Wallace & Sarah his wife, Robert Campbell, & Thomas Hutson & Mary his wife by John Walker their attorney in fact acknowledged this their Indenture and bargain & sale for land to William Winegar, and ordered to be recorded. On the motion of John Walker a Commission is granted to take the privy examination of said feme coverts touching their relinquishments of Dower in the Land conveyed according to law.

    James Wallace b 1743-46 d 1813 in Fayette county Kentucky m 21 May 1765 in Augusta county Virginia to Elizabeth Campbell was the son of John Wallace and Isabel Rutherford.John Wallace was b abt 1716 d 29 Sept 1782 in Rockbridge county Virginia m abt 17140 in Somerset county Maryland to Isabel Rutherford b abt 1718.Other children were Rebecca b 1745-48 in Augusta county m 13 Jun 1766 in Augusta county to Robert Campbell (this is the line I am researching); and Robert b 1747-50 in Augusta county d 28 Jan 1828 in Warren county Kentucky m abt 1770 in Kentuckyto Sarah (mnu), then to Elizabeth Bakin and Jemima Allingham.
    I do not know who John Wallace's parents were.
    Isabel Rutherford was the daughter of James Rutherford and Margaret McMahon.James Rutherford was b 1670-1702 (depending on source) in Roxburgshire, Scotland d 26 Aug 1768 in Walker's Creek, Rockbridge county Virginia.He was the son of John Rutherford and Isabella Alleine.Margaret McMahon was b 1682-1702 (depending on source) in county Down, Ireland and d 1774 in Walker's Creek, Rockbridge county Virginia.Other children were Samuel b abt 1724 in Staunton, Augusta county Virginia and Jane b abt 1726 in Staunton, Augusta, Virginia.
    John Rutherford was b 1642-1674 in Teviotdate, Roxburgshire, Scotland d abt 1740 in county Down, Ireland m abt 1680 to isabella Alleine was was b 1646-1680 in Somersetshire, England and d abt 1740.Other childred were Thomas, John, Samuel, Catherine, Allen, Elizabeth, and Esther.Catherine m 7 Jan 1701-2 in Wigton, Scotland to John Walker.John Rutherford was the son of Samuel Rutherford and Jan McMath.Isabella Alleine was the daughter of Joseph Alleine and Theodosia Alleine (they were cousins).
