James Sallust birth abt 1761 son of Nicholas & Margaret Sallust married Margaret (Peggy)Shell , birth abt 1803 daughter of Jacob Shell Sr. His mother was the widow of John Wall Senior of Augusta County,now Montgomery) James Sallust was the son of Margaret & Nicholas, He had two half brothers, Adam III & John Wall Jr who settled on the east side of the New River near Strouubles Creek.

Early Adventures on the Western Waters , Vol 1 Vol II by Mary B. Kegley & F. B. Kegley p.366 Quote"James Sallust was the son of Nicholas and Margaret Sallust. His mother was the widow of John Wall Sr. of Augusta County and James Sallust had 2 step brothers (Sic half brothers which later in books she rectify's) who settled on the east side of the New River near Stroubles Creek" ... The marriage bond was dated Nov 4 1780 with Adam Wall as surety (Montgomery Co. Marriages.)
