James Rumgay, son of Andrew Rumgay and Helen Stevenson Menzies, was born in 1885 in Hamilton, Scotland. He married Jessie Ralston. James was a private with the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles), 6th Bn, when he was killed during the Battle of the Somme on 29 Oct 1916.
