- 7 April 1795, for 5 pounds, 4 acres more or less. James Paul and Mary his wife to Cawfield Taylor.
- Tract of 4 acres more or less in Rockbridge County, VA. part of the land where Paul now lives.
- Beginning at a Red oak by the side of the great road on sd. Tailor's line.
- South 18 deg, West 12 poles to a hickory and chestnut grubs on the great road side.
- North 75 deg, West 38 poles to a hickory.
- North 32 deg, East 23 poles to a white oak & locust on sd. Taylor's line
- With same, South 50 deg, East 36 poles to the beginning. With appurtenances.
