Obituary from The Daily Mail, Catskill, NY, May 8, 1930 James D. Newbury [should be James G] James D. Newbury, head of the Coxsackie Foundry, and a resident of that village for the last 65 years, died at Albany hospital Wednesday, May 7, aged 83 years. Funeral services were held from his late residence Friday, with military honors accorded by Coxsackie Post, No. 166, American Legion. Burial was in the Riverside cemetery. Born in Windham, the son of Alonzo and Marcia Tuttle Newbury, Mr. Newbury removed to Coxsackie at the age of 18 years. He served in the Civil War and was one of the last surviving members of Coxsackie post, G. A. R. Mr. Newbury is survived by two sons, Irving and Arthur, both of Coxsackie, and a daughter, Mrs. Claribel Beach, of Poughkeepsie.

Obit in Windham Journal gives his place of birth as Red Falls, and birth date as April 5, 1847, and states that his widow survived him.
