James Motley Marr. Cert. BK 5,page 411, Montgomery Co.,IN. One report from Charlotte Short gave his sisters as Ara Elizabeth, Nettie Eldora, and brother William Homer Motley. Later evidence indicated that these were his children, not his sibling. One note suggested that James eventually deserted Martha. My mother (Betty Braught) thought he died 28 Feb. 1897. In the Montgomery Co., IN History Vol. 1 (spc 977.248H in IN State Lib). noted among Civil War 111 Rgmt Minute Men was Pvt. James Owens.
