The Last Will and Testament of James Magill of 96 District, deceased, dated the 8th of Feb 1779 was probated in the Ordinary's office the 24th of August 1782, by John Johnson a subscribing witness, the other witnesses George Potts and Cathren Johnson. Anthony Golding executor and qualified as such, the other executors Robet Cunningham, William O'Neal and Henry O'Neal not qualified (gone to the British). Letters of Testamentary granted, and a warrant of appraisement, a dedimus directed to John Wyld and William Moore to qualify Richard Griffen, Anthony Griffen, Richard Goling and John or any three of them as appraisers.
A copy will taken 26 August. 8th Nov 1782, Inventory and appraisement returned and filed in Ordinary's office. Recorded in page 95 of this Book.

Will of James Magill of 96 District, Province of South Carolina, signed 2-8-1779.
Grandson James Golding a tract of 280 acres on a small branch of Little River joining land laid out to Christopher Neelly and William Lowery, also 2 negroes Will and Wenn and their future increase.
To grandson William Golding the "plantation I now live on containg 150 acres", and negroes Moriah and Silvey and their future increase.
To grandson Anthony Golding a tract of 220 acres on a small branch of Saludy River called Cane Creek and 2 negroes Jack and Joe.
Also given to the three named grandsons to be sold and proceeds equally divided a tract of 207 acres on Hoges Creek in Frederick County, Virginia, and all houshold furniture, stock, wagon and gears, plantation, book accounts, notes, and bonds, and part of tobacco now pressed, with all money and all other notes to be equally divided.
To son-in-law Anthoney Golding all lands "I have in South Carolina the Benefitt of untill my three Grand-Sons comes of age, with the Interest on the monies arising from the sales of the above mentioned lands for the Raising and Schooling my three Grand-Sons." If any grandson dies without heir, his share to be divided among the survivors.
To grand son James Golding negro girl Dinna; to grandson William Golding, negro named Hannah.
Nephew William Lowery to have all Magill's wearing apparel. "Nethertheless should my three Grand-sons die and leave no heirs, the three parts of my Estate both real and personal shall be sold and equally divided between my Nephews in Ireland and America, the other part to be given to my Son-in-law Anthony Golding."
