Hi Jim,

I was born and lived in CA. until 1970. We live in OR. now.

In regards to the wonderful data you sent me on James, thank you so much. I really do appreciate it.

The will of James Kear 1811 talks of his grandson James, son of John. Is this John, John4 (h/o Elizabeth Hogshead) Alexander Kerr one of the executors in the will? If so, are you sure that James5 moved to Missouri? If so he can not be my James???

My ggg grandfather (James5?) was born abt 1792/95. I thought for sure this was him, except my James moved to OH., he is on the 1870 census with his wife Mary A, their daughter Isabella ( Carr) Webb and my grandmother Mary Clementine d/o Isabella. James would have been over 70 years old in 1870. Mary A is on the 1880 census same place but not James.

I have found Mary A's death record in Rutland Twp, Meigs, OH. she died a widow. James and Mary's children were born in Sinking Creek. I'm not familiar with the area of Augusta in reference to Giles and Graig Co.'s. I have wondered why this will was from Augusta.

Good luck in your search for your family history.

Bette
