"James Irwin my Father was born in the year of Lord 1745--Armgh [sic] Ireland And died aged 69--1814 Jane Doud was born 1752 Bedford Westchester County--New York They were married in 1775 or 6 I John Irwin--born July 29 1776 and do consecrate this page to their memory My Brother William was born March 12 1778 1--Jared was born March 4 1780 and died July the 8 1787 Rachel Irwin was born Decem 13 1781 and died July 5 1783 James Irwin was born 19 of October 1783 and died 1850 Jane was born May 16 1786 and died Novem 21 1788 Elizabeth was born 29 October 1788 and died a woman Phebe 19 November 1790 and died 4 December same year 2--Jared Irwin was born December 12 1791 George was born 16 January 1794"

Military Service, Revolutionary War: Served as a private in the 4th Company of the 3rd Regiment of the New York Line. Enlisted 26 November 1776 for 3 years and served to the end of the war.
