JAMES HATFIELD, OOLITIC, IS DEAD
James W. Hatfield, 34-year-old Oolitic garage mechanic, died early this
morning at Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis. He had been ill for
several weeks.
He is survived by his wife, mother, five children, four sisters, and a
brother. The children are Jimmy, Barbara, Caroline Sue, Janet Kay, and
Lahoma Madelyn. All are at home.
A brother, Ernest Dale, lives in Bedford. The sisters are Mrs. Doyle
Chambers of Needmore, Mrs. Floyd White of Bloomfield, Mrs. Estil Fesler
of Crane, and Mrs. Beulah Stanley of Oolitic.
Mr. Hatfield was born April 2, 1912 in Oolitic, the son of D. and Elsie
Trusty Hatfield. He married Bessie Payton, September 12, 1936.
The remains will be brought to the Day and Carter funeral home in Bedford
and removed to the home of the mother, 205 Sixth street, Oolitic, at 3:30
p.m. Thursday. The funeral will be held in the Oolitic Baptist church,
of which he was a member, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will follow in
Green Hill cemetery.
