Rev. Samuel Houston was the brother-in-law and friend of Capt. James Hall. James and Martha had a son named James Hall, Jr. James Hall, Jr. married Patsy Leech. They were married on August 22, 1816 in Rockbridge Co., VA by Rev. Andrew B. Davidson, of Oxford Presbyterian Church. Patsy's parents were Thomas and Elizabeth Leech. James inherited from his father the home plantation and adjoining land, about 430 acres and all the moveable property and stock and to him was entrusted the care of the family until the youngest child came of age. He was to administer all the legacies made in the will.
