  • Page 353.--7th January, 1791. Andrew Lockridge's will--To son, John, 1 crown; to daughter, Elizabeth Gwin, 1 crown; to daughter, Elenor Dinwiddy, 1 crown; to daughter, Margaret Henderson, 1 crown; to son, Andrew, 1 crown; to son, James, 1 crown; to son, William, tract purchased of Thos. Hicklin; to sons, Robert and Lanty, lands in Bullpasture, infants; to wife, Jean; to daughter, Sarah, 1 crown; to daughter, Rebecca; to my seven children, viz: William, Rebecka, Robert, Lanty, Elizabeth Lockridge, Jean, Ann. First Generation 1. James1 Dinwiddie (Robert2), son of Robert Dinwiddie and Elizabeth, was born in VA circa 1753. James died December 1822 in Jessamine Co., KY, at 69 years of age. His body was interred in family cemetery, Jessamine Co., KY.

He married Eleanor Lockridge in Augusta Co., VA, August 16, 1785. Eleanor was born Augusta Co., VA circa 1766. Eleanor was the daughter of Andrew Lockridge and Jane Graham. Eleanor died September 1815 in Jessamine Co., KY, at 49 years of age. Her body was interred in family cemetery, Jessamine Co., KY. At 23 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Elizabeth Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, November 20, 1789. Eleanor became the mother of Robert Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, before 1794. Eleanor became the mother of James L. Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, ca 1798. Eleanor became the mother of John Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, ca 1800. At 35 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Rebecca Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, September 8, 1801. Eleanor became the mother of Eleanor Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, circa 1803. Eleanor became the mother of Margaret (Peggy) Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, circa 1810. Eleanor became the mother of Sally Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, before October, 1815. Eleanor became the mother of Andrew Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, before 1816.

James became the father of Robert Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, before 1794. James became the father of James L. Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, ca 1798. James became the father of John Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, ca 1800. At 48 years of age James became the father of Rebecca Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, September 8, 1801. James became the father of Eleanor Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, circa 1803. James became the father of Margaret (Peggy) Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, circa 1810. James became the father of Sally Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, before October, 1815. James became the father of Andrew Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, before 1816. James Dinwiddie appears on the Fayette County tax list for 1788. At that time Jessamine County had not yet been formed from Fayette. James Dinwiddie had 450 acres on Harrods Lick Creek in Bourbon County, KY. The entry was made in 1780 and the survey refers to his improvement on the land. I believe he was in Bourbon County before moving to his land in what is now Jessamine County, KY.

James Dinwiddie and Eleanor Lockridge had the following children:

2 i. Elizabeth Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY November 20, 1789. Elizabeth died after 1834 in Missouri. She married George M. Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, December 12, 1808. George was born in VA April 17, 1781. George died ca 1819 in Jessamine Co., KY. At 28 years of age George became the father of Columbus Singleton Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, February 4, 1810. At 29 years of age George became the father of George Washington Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, March 21, 1811. At 33 years of age George became the father of Montgomery M. Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, October 5, 1814. At 35 years of age George became the father of Uriah Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, April 28, 1816. 

At 20 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Columbus Singleton Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, February 4, 1810. At 21 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of George Washington Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, March 21, 1811. At 24 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Montgomery M. Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, October 5, 1814. At 26 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Uriah Proctor in Jessamine Co., KY, April 28, 1816. She moved with some of her family to Marion County, MO in 1834.

3 ii. Robert Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY before 1794. Robert died Monroe City, MO in 1862. He married Fanny Zimmerman in Jessamine Co., KY, March 17, 1814. Fanny was the daughter of Frederick Zimmerman, Jr. and Judith Bourne. Robert Dinwiddie was a soldier in the War of 1812. He went to Missouri with his sisters Elizabeth and Rebecca in 1834. 
4 iii. James L. Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY ca 1798. He married Susan Richardson in Washington Co., KY, August 11, 1825. 
5 iv. John Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY ca 1800. John died before 1862 in Missouri. He married Elizabeth Phillips Terrill. Elizabeth was born in Garrard Co., KY March 29, 1807. Elizabeth was the daughter of Robert Terrill and Mary Beazley. Elizabeth died February 1889 in Marion Co., MO, at 81 years of age. At 28 years of age Elizabeth became the mother of Margaret Dinwiddie 1835. Elizabeth became the mother of William Dinwiddie ca 1840. Elizabeth became the mother of Almyra Dinwiddie ca 1843. Elizabeth became the mother of John R. Dinwiddie ca 1848. 

At 35 years of age John became the father of Margaret Dinwiddie 1835. John became the father of William Dinwiddie ca 1840. John became the father of Almyra Dinwiddie ca 1843. John became the father of John R. Dinwiddie ca 1848. John Dinwiddie was a farmer.

6 v. Rebecca Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY September 8, 1801. Rebecca died September 25, 1877 in Marion Co., MO, at 76 years of age. She married James Ballinger in Jessamine Co., KY, May 9, 1825. James was born in Garrard Co., KY January 11, 1799. James was the son of Achilles Ballinger and Milly Hudson. James died March 5, 1870 in Marion Co., MO, at 71 years of age. At 27 years of age James became the father of James D. Ballinger in Garrard Co., KY, March 25, 1826. At 32 years of age James became the father of Oliver H. Ballinger 1831. At 35 years of age James became the father of Joseph Ballinger in Missouri, 1834. At 38 years of age James became the father of Atchman P. Ballinger 1837. At 40 years of age James became the father of Lucinda J. Ballinger 1839. At 44 years of age James became the father of Columbus Singleton Ballinger in near Philadelphia, MO, July 8, 1843. At 44 years of age James became the father of Margaret E. Ballinger July 8, 1843. 

At 24 years of age Rebecca became the mother of James D. Ballinger in Garrard Co., KY, March 25, 1826. At 29 years of age Rebecca became the mother of Oliver H. Ballinger 1831. At 32 years of age Rebecca became the mother of Joseph Ballinger in Missouri, 1834. At 35 years of age Rebecca became the mother of Atchman P. Ballinger 1837. At 37 years of age Rebecca became the mother of Lucinda J. Ballinger 1839. At 41 years of age Rebecca became the mother of Columbus Singleton Ballinger in near Philadelphia, MO, July 8, 1843. At 41 years of age Rebecca became the mother of Margaret E. Ballinger July 8, 1843.

7 vi. Eleanor Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY circa 1803. Eleanor died circa 1837 Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY. Her body was interred. She married Samuel Hinds, Jr. in Jessamine Co., KY, February 16, 1824. Samuel was born in Fayette Co., KY before 1801. Samuel was the son of Samuel Hinds and Jane Francis. Samuel died 1832 Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY, at 31 years of age. His body was interred. Samuel's occupation: Farmer. At 24 years of age Samuel became the father of Tilford Dinwiddie Hinds December 25, 1825. Samuel became the father of Eleanor Jane Hinds circa 1828. At 29 years of age Samuel became the father of Mary Helen Hinds Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY, March 3, 1830. 

At 22 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Tilford Dinwiddie Hinds December 25, 1825. Eleanor became the mother of Eleanor Jane Hinds circa 1828. At 26 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Mary Helen Hinds Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY, March 3, 1830.

8 vii. Margaret (Peggy) Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY circa 1810. She married James Kirkpatrick in Jessamine Co., KY, May 29, 1823. 
9 viii. Sally Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY before October, 1815. Sally died after December 11, 1822 at approximately 7 years of age. Sally Dinwiddie is thought to have died young and unmarried. 
10 ix. Andrew Dinwiddie was born in Jessamine Co., KY before 1816. Andrew died before 1822 in Jessamine Co., KY. Andrew Dinwiddie predeceased his father and died without issue.
