Curry, James - entered service 1777 in Virginia; granted Pension 1818 in Madison County, Ohio, with residing in Franklin County, Ohio; resided 1828 abt. age 75 in Union County, Ohio; query letter in file states a Colonel James Curry, Virginia Revolutionary War soldier, born 1752, moved in 1800 to Highland County, Ohio, thence to Union County, Ohio, where he died in 1834. R716

  • Page 449.-(undated, appears to be abt. March 1777) - 170 acres on Thorny Branch joining the plantation whereon Thomas Waddle now (18th March, 1777) lives, formerly possessed by Banj. Copeland and the Plantation of Ralph Lofftus, formerly possessed by William Cunningham. Teste: James Curry, Jr.

    Fought in the battles of Point Pleasant, Brandywine, Germantown Monmoth,Charlestown, and Yorktown. Wintered at Valley Forge.

    Wife: Marie Magdalene Burns (Mary Burns).

    Supposedly buried at Curry Cemetery then reburied at Oakdale.
