The history of the COCHRAN family was written by Deaf Robert about the time that some members of his family emigrated to Pennsylvania. They settled in what is now Chester County. The original document is in the possession of the Presbyterian Historical Society in Philadelphia. In his writings he mentions several Cochrans who "came" to Pennsylvania, rather than "went" indicating he may have been in PA when he wrote his later documents. His family dates all come from the manuscript.
Children of James Cochran and Janet Wallace are:
i. HONEST ROBERT COCHRAN, b. Abt. 1665, Ireland.
ii. JOHN COCHRAN, b. Abt. 1667, Ireland; m. MARGARET ROSS; b. Abt. 1670, Ireland.
Notes for JOHN COCHRAN:
Deaf Robert called John "ye grand" because of his being a Grenadier in the wars of Ireland A.D. 1689, and his wife of the linage of Robert Kittough.
