Biography

James was the son of Samuel Bugbee and Dorothy Carpenter. His siblings were: Rebecca, Samuel Jr., Dorothy (who died young), Anne, Jesse, Joseph, Dorothy and Experience (who died at one and a half years old. She was named after James grandmother). He first married Hannah Crary Oct. 10, 1737 and they had at least 3 children: Joseph, James, Jr., and Amasa. After she died on May 16, 1743 he married Mary May on March 28, 1745 (intention date) in Barrington, Rhode Island. Their children were: Hezekiah, Mary, Rufus, Nathaniel, Timothy, Betsey, Hannah, Sophia, Lydia, Alice and Joseph.
