Notes on James Bratton

James Bratton appears to have had a prior marriage to Dorothy Fleming, based upon this reference in "A History of Rockbridge County, Virginia", by Oren Frederic Morton:

Robert Bratton, who married the widow of Alexander Dunlap, Sr., was one of four brothers. Samuel Bratton remained in Mifflin county, Pennsylvania; James, who married Dorothy Fleming, settled near Christiansburg. Three sons of another brother, went to South Carolina. Captain Robert Bratton was a man of wealth and distinction.
