My granchildren and I really enjoyed the Civil War museum in Greenville, South Carolina.
James Black served in Galveston, Texas. He later became a Lieutenant. This is only the first year of the letters he and his wife wrote to each other during the Civil War. I don't have access to the other letters yet.
I have added a lot of endnotes-- some of which are links to Civil War histories and info.
You are welcome to add this link to your website if you want.

James Black enlisted Sept. 21, 1861 in the Confederate Army in Waco, McLennan Co., TX. I have a photocopy of the muster roll of those who enlisted that day.
