Indenture 18 May 1850: John A. Bridges and Esther his wife of County of Marion Tennessee on one part and Martin Hagey County of Washington, Virginia --for $162.00 current money of the US in hand sell a tract of land lying in Washington County containing forty and one half acres. beginning at stake in Neffs line--line of land of Martin Hagey and Salley his wife to stake in land of heirs of Polly Hooser deceased. Being same piece allotted said Esther Bridges as her portion of the land of her father James Anderson, Senr. deceased--division of land wherein James A Bryant is complaint and said Martin Hagey and Sally his wife, John A. Bridges and Ester his wife and the Hiers of Polly Hooser deceased are defendants. [Washington County, Virginia deeds. Vol 20, Page 116].
