  3.   Jacob Benjamin (Ben) Ross, 72, 117 Sheridan Drive, died at 11:22 Saturday at a Rome health care center after an extended illness.
           Mr. Ross was born in Floyd County, April 1, 1912, son of the late Charles Ross and Gertrude Simmons Ross. He had been a resident of Floyd County most of his life and was member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement in 1972, he was employed by the U. S. Post Office for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Mildred Barnett Ross, February 13, 1952.
           Survivors include his widow, the former Gladys Durham, to whom he was married July 13, 1966; one son, Wayne Ross, California; one daughter, Mrs. Nancy Gresham, Smyrna; two brothers, Lamar (Doc) Ross and Lewis Ross, both of Rome; three sisters: Mrs. Jessie Morris and Mrs. Elizabeth Trammell, Rome, Mrs. Virginia Hardin, Harlingen, Texas; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
           Graveside services will be held at 2 pm Monday at the family lot at East View Cemetery with the Rev. James Sanders officiating.
           Pallbearers will include C. D. Allred, Grady St Clair and members of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. [Rome News-Tribune, May 1984] KF-in-Georgia
  4.   Jacob Benjamin (Ben) Ross. Graveside services for Jacob Benjamin (Ben) Ross, 72, 117 Sheridan Drive, who died at 11:22 am Saturday at a Rome health care center after an extended illness, will be held at 2 pm Monday at the family lot at East View Cemetery with the Rev. James Sanders officiating. The body will lie in state at the funeral home and the family will receive friends at the residence. Those desiring, may make memorials to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 606 McCall Boulevard, Rome, Ga. 30161. Pallbearers are asked to meet at the chapel at 1:30 pm Monday.
