115 JACOB PENCE was born about 1769 in Augusta Co VA; died in 1819 in Monroe Co WV (will proved 19 Dec 1820 Monroe Co), buried Pence Cemetery, Union, Monroe Co; married Elizabeth Tresler 15 Apr or 26 Jun 1799 in Botetourt Co VA (she was born - Jun 1780, probably in Rockingham Co VA, died 13 Mar 1865 Indian Creek, Monroe Co, age 85, daughter of Henry Tresler (Dressler) and Maria Catarina _____). He bought land in Bath Co VA (now in Alleghany Co) in July of 1805 and sold it in Aug 1818 when he moved to Monroe Co, where he purchased land from Isaac Estill in 1817. NOTE: A number of persons have joined the DAR on the service of this Jacob; however, it was likely his father who served in the War (see "Which Jacob Pence?"). Children:

1151 HENRY PENCE was born 23 Jun 1800 in Bath Co VA (was apparently Botetourt Co then); died 27 Dec 1867 Monroe Co, WV, buried Pence Cemetery, Union, Monroe Co; married Nancy Stodghill 29 Nov 1829 in Monroe Co (she was born 22 Feb 1808, died 26 Jun 1880, buried Pence Cemetery, daughter of Joel Stodghill and Elizabeth Graham).

1152 CATHERINE PENCE was born about 1803; died in 1867; married Jesse Dickerson in 1820 in Monroe Co WV (he was born in 1798, died in 1859).

1153 JULIANA PENCE was born in 1805; died in 1882; married John Shultz 1825 Monroe Co WV (he was born in 1800, died in 1887).

1154 MOSES PENCE was born 15 Oct 1807 in Allegheny Co VA (was Bath Co or Botetourt Co then); died 13 Apr 1873 in Monroe Co WV; married Delilah Smith in 1834 in Monroe Co (she was born 25 Jan 1812, died 28 May 1872, buried Pence Cemetery, Union, Monroe Co).

1157 PETER GEORGE WASHINGTON PENCE was born about 1813 in VA; possibly died young as he was to receive "the stone house" per his father's will; father's will also said that he wanted him to go to Peter Pence of Botetourt Co VA to learn the tanning business.

1158 (NANCY) AGNES PENCE was born about 1816 in VA; died 1895 in Summers Co WV; married Lewis L. (S.? E.?) Smith 1835 in Monroe Co WV (he was born about 1810).
