Note: some sources claim that Jacob Kisling married Anna Barbara Bear, but another Jacob Kisling, son of Jacob and Walburga Kisling appears to be the one that married Anna Barbara Bear. More research may be necessary.

    Rockingham County } SS.
    On this 15 day of October 1832 personally appeared in open court before Daniel th
    Mathews George Clarke Jacob Hansberger & John H Campbell Gentlemen Justices, the Court of Rockingham County now sitting, Jacob Kisling resident of the said County of Rockingham in the State of Virginia aged Seventy two years, who being first duly sworn according to Law, Doth on his Oath make the following declaration, in order to obtain the benefit of the Act of Congress passed the 7 day of June 1832.
    That he entered the service of the United States under the following named Officers and served as herein stated That he first entered the service of the United States in the early part of the year 1781 as a Drafter Militia man under Captain Michael Huston, Majr. [Gawen] Hamilton – served at Williamsburg and below and at York Town Va under Gen Morgan Served three months was regularly discharged but received no written discharge That he entered the service of the United States the second time in the summer of 1781 as a Drafted Militia man under Captain Michael Coager or Cowger [sic: Michael Coger]. Col [William] Nall Marched to York Town Virginia, served there dureing the Investment & Seige of York Town [28 Sep – 19 Oct], and at the Capture or surrender of Lord Cornwallis & the Brittish under his command. Gens Muhlenburg [sic: Peter Muhlenberg], Washington &c. served three months dureing this tour, was regularly discharged rec’d. no written discharge. That he has no other or
    further recollection of the officers under or with whom he served That he has no documentary evidence, that he entered the service at or was drafted from (now) Rockingham County Virginia [formed from Augusta County in 1778]. That he was Born in the said County of Rockingham in the year 1760 and has resided there ever since. That he can prove his services as aforesaid by John Nicholas [pension application S5829] & John Pence [W5511] who he here brings into court for that purpose. That he hereby relinquishes every claim whatever to a pension or annuity except the present and declares that his name is not on the pension Roll of the Agency of any State
