  2. ↑ The Edmund Rice Association points that the death date of 4 Nov 1809 given in some sources for Jabez is not to be found in the Marlborough VRs and is so similar to the recorded 3 Nov 1809 death of a different, and younger, Jabez as to be questionable. Source:Ward, Andrew Henshaw. Genealogical History of the Rice Family : Descendants of Deacon Edmund Rice, Who Came from Barkhamstead, England and Settled at, p. 96, says "No record of his death." His 2nd wife Elizabeth is called a widow when she d. 1812.
