Jim:

Saw your two year old note on TNGenWeb page. I am seeking information on Isabel Kerr who was born in VA about 1805, married a David Alexander 1/25/1827 in Greene Co. TN. They later moved to Indiana. Might this Isabel be the child of James that you mention in your posing?

    ISABEL ALEXANDER

Widow of Squire David Alexander, died at the residence of John McCaslin, west of the city, on Friday morning last, Oct 31st., in the 69th year of her age.

Mrs. Alexander was born in Green County, East Tennessee, and was the daughter of John Kerr, and at the age of twenty-two, she was married to David Alexander, and in 1833 with her husband moved to Indiana, and was a citizen of this county for some forty years. Her husband, David Alexander well-known to many of our citizens, died in the fall of 1866, seven years ago.

She was the mother of six children, three of whom are now living. She had long been a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, having united with that branch of the Christian Church, with her husband, in East Tennessee, and lived as an exemplary Christian all her life.

Her funeral was preached at the residence of Mr. McCaslin on Saturday last at 2 o’clock in the afternoon, by Rev. S. E. Barr, and her remains were then laid away to rest in the Franklin Cemetery.
