Wayne County, Richmond, Indiana Circuit Court Will Records Book 2, page 171 Will of Isaac Estep Dec'd In the name of God amen, I Isaac Estep of Wayne County, Indiana State, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life and being of sound mind and memory blessed be God Almighty for the same do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and following to wit; after my just debts are paid. 1st I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Ruthey Estep, sixty acres of land lying a t the east side of the lot that I now live on, and house and household furniture, also my kitchen furniture, two sugar kettles, her choice of my horses on e choice cow, three yearling hogs and six sheep during her natural life for her own proper use and behoof. 2nd I will and bequeat unto my eldest daughter Betsy Hunt one dollar. 3rd I will and bequeath unto my second daughter Nancy Wyatt one dollar. 4th I will and bequeath unto my eldest son John M. Estep one dollar. 5th I will and bequeath unto my third daughter Polly Ward one dollar. 6th I will and bequeath unto my youngest son, Isaac Moore one dollar (also if he takes good care of me and my wife and uses us well during our life) sixty acres o f land lying at the east side of the lot I now live on to be his at the decease of me and my wife for his own proper use and behoof. Also I lend unto Isaac Moore Esteb the use of my south stable and barn reserving to myself the north stable and upper part and the shelter joining to it at the west part. 7th I will and bequeath unto Rebecca Jenkins an ophan child that now lives with us now k nown by the name of Becca Estep, one horse, saddle and bridle, one cow and calf, one ewe and lamb, one bed and furniture and bedsteds and reasonable good clothing for her own proper use and benefit. 8th I will and direct that all of the property, money in hand or out at use that I may have at my decease after the decease of my wife that one fourth part be equall y divided amongst all of my children and Becca Jenkins and the balance, if any, be equally divided amongst my three daughters Betsy Hunt, Nancy Wyatt, and Polly Ward. 9th And lastly I do hereby make and ordain and constitute this my last will and testament and disannull all others heretofore made, and do hereby nominate and appoint my son John M. Estep and Isaac Mellender sole Executors to this my last will and testament. Given under my hand and seal this sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight.
