ISAAC(3) CHASE (Daniel(2)), born in Newbury, 19 Jan. 1690/91; died in Sutton, 27 Feb. 1786. He married (1) in Newbury, 29 Oct. 1710, HANNAH BERRY [The Vital Records of Newbury give his first wife the name of Berry but it has been printed in The Chase Chronicle as Barry. No Barry family appears in the locality but it was not unusual to call Berry Barry in colonial times. She was probably a descendant of the Berry family of Portsmouth, N. H.], who died in Sutton, 6 or 8 May 1771, aged about 83. "She lived with her husband above 60 years, and hath left of her posterity above 90 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, of the last about 25." He married (2) in Mendon, 3 Nov. 1772, HANNAH TENNEY of Upton, probably the widow of Moses Tenney of Mendon. Her maiden name was Hannah Whitney of Uxbridge. She was alive 4 Apr. 1787. He was a wheelwright and husbandman. He removed from Newbury to Sutton about 1722 and lived in that part of the old town which is now Grafton, near the village of Saundersville, a portion of Sutton that was set off to Grafton in 1842.
