Irene N. Getzinger, 80 Years of Midland, died Wednesday Evening, September 29 1994 at Town & Country Nursing Home. She was born January 25, 1914 in Sullivna, Indiana, daughter of the late Thomas and Lula (Everheart) Dawson. The former Irene Dawson married Matthew J. Getzinger, September 29, 1937. He predeceased her May 5 1992. Mrs. Getzinger was a member of the Catholic faith and was employed by the Made Rite Potato Chip Company in Bay City, MI until her retirement. She had enjoyed crocheting, ceramics and cooking. Surviving are her children and their spouses, 1 son William and Cheryl Getzinger of Hope, 3 daughters, Paula and Calvin Church of Midland, Jane and Michael Mattison of Kawkawlin, Elizabeth Miller of Sanford; 1 sister, Reba Diely of Wetherford, Tx; 20 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Mrs Getzinger was predeceased by a step son James Getzinger and a step daughter Joann Trombley, 3 brothers, Tom, Noel and Paul Dawson, and 1 great grandson, Cody Johnson. Funeral Services for Mrs. Getzinger will take place at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 1994 from the Ware Smith Woolever & Co Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler Street, Midland. Deacon Michael Jankowiak fo Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church will officiate. There will be a graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, OH on Mondya, October 3, 1994 at 2:00 p.m. Mrs. Gretzinger's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until time of services.
