Departed. Mrs. J. F. Grinstaff died at her home last Saturday, January 29th, and was buried in Plains cemetery last Monday. She had been a long and patient sufferer from cancer. Funeral services were conducted by Fred Johnson of Fowler. The Journal joins the entire community in extending sympathy to those who are left to mourn the loss of a wife and mother.
Ida May Reece was born in Johnson County, Indiana, April 17, 1864 and died January 29, 1916, at the age of 51 years, 9 months and 12 days. When three years old, she moved with her parents to Putman [sic] County, Mo., where she grew to womanhood. She was married to J. F. Grinstaff January 27, 1884. The three children who survived her are Milford Grinstaff of Beloit, Kansas, Leah Ard of Haswell, Colorado, and Alma Grinstaff of Plains.
Mr.s and Mrs. Grinstaff moved from Missouri to Marion County, Kansas, in 1886; living there 21 years. Nine years ago they moved to Meade County.

- ↑ Jim and Ida Grindstaff are said to have six children, only three of whom survived to adulthood. Gilbert, buried in the same cemetery as Jim and Ida, is probably one of the three who did not survive.
