    BURIAL

    Redstone, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA

Hugh Laughlin served as a justice of the peace in Fayette County. He also was described by state historians as a "gentleman farmer" who owned a grist mill, two sawmills, two cabins, a distillery and several lots in Brownsville as well as his farm southeast of town.

The farm's Hugh Laughlin House is a national historic landmark. It features a 2-story, three-bay stone structure in the Georgian style from about 1790 and a 1 1/2-story sandstone section from about 1800.

Family history says he was buried on his farm, in the Laughlin Burying Ground. However, there is no gravestone, and some gravestones reportedly were removed years ago.
