Mr. Galloway was born in LaPlatte, Minn., Jan. 31, 1869, the son of James and Rachel Ann Crosgrove Galloway. He moved to Westfield at the age of four, residing there until 1904, when he moved to Dewittville. Mr. Galloway was in the feed and coal business, first with George S. Griffith and later with his son, Vincent. Mr. Galloway and the former Nancy May Crandall were married in Brocton, May 19, 1892 by Rev. W. C. Wiltsie. For the past 23 years Mr. and Mrs. Galloway had spent their winters in Florida. Surviving are his wife; four sons, LaVerne G. Galloway and Vincent J. Galloway, Dewittville; Mearl A. Galloway, Dewittville and Holly Hill, Fla.; Harold B. Galloway, Lake George, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A brother, John Galloway, and two sisters, Nellie Galloway and Mrs. Eina Anderson, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday from the Hemstreet Funeral Home, Mayville. Rev. Earl W. Mattison, pastor of the Dewittville E.U.B. Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Dewittville Cemetery.” References
