[Alamance County_Feb 2006_backup.FTW] OBITUARY: BURLINGTON - Mr. Hobart G. Rich, 84, died at 6:10 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2000, at Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Alamance. He was a former resident at 602 Oak St. A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Mrs.. Irma Saul Rich and the son of Mr. Christian A. Rich, and Mrs.. Mary Frances Elizabeth Isley Rich, both deceased. He was retired from Kayser-Roth and a member of Davis Street United Methodist Church and its Joe Holmes Bible class. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in World War II. Survivors include two sons, Mr. David Gordon Rich of Browns Summit, and Dr. Stephen S. Rich of Mocksville; a sister, Mrs.. Vitus Latta of Burlington; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs.. Gladys L. May and Miss Lula Rich; and two brothers, Mr. Aubrey Rich and Mr. Clyde Rich. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Dr. Michael Hobbs, pastor at Davis Street United Methodist Church, and the Rev. R.E.L. Moser, a Methodist minister. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will be at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington for one hour before the funeral.
