Information comes from Lillian's family tree. "He [John Fite] was the son of Henry fite (Fait) who d. before June 18, 1801, see Will Book A, p. 1, Clark Co., Indiana. This Henry Fite was the son of Henry Fite of Baltimore, Md., in whose home (later called 'Old Congress Hall') Continental Congress met during the winter of 1776-7. 'The Fite Families,' by Elizabeth Mitchell Stephenson Fite, pub. New York, 1907, tells of this family, among others. It is substantially correct but has the records of the younger Henry Fite as though he had been two men, Henry2 and Henry3."
