--The funeral for Helen Victoria Downey, 84, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Gyp Valley Cemetery, southwest of Buffalo. Arrangements are by Wilkinson Funeral Home.

She was born Nov. 18, 1917, in Buffalo to Andrew Paul and Hettie V. Mayfield Jackson and died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at St. Ann's Nursing Home, Oklahoma City. She grew up in the Buffalo area and attended a country school. She married John Francis Downey April 7, 1937, at Dodge City, Kan. They made their home in Buffalo. She worked at the Western State Hospital in Ft. Supply for several years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Surviving are two sons, Francis Downey of Jones, and John Downey of Yukon; a brother, Bob Jackson of Buffalo; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband John, Aug. 4, 1965, a son, two brothers and two sisters. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Joseph Catholic Church
