1910- census-Helen, age 30, living with mother and siblings in Texas

1924-Helen applies for her passport. The application shows that she plans to travel in Japan, China, UK, Egypt, Italy, Switzerland, and France

1925-passenger list-traveled from France with sister Emily, arrived in New York 13 Aug 1925 on board the President Adams.

1930-census-Helen is head of house and her sister Emily is living with her. They are living next to the family of their brother, Merton, who is a farmer. Helen is 50 and single. Emily is 48 and single.

1940 census-IL-there appear to be two 1940 census records for the sisters, Helen and Emily. The first is dated 5 Apr 1940 and is a Nonresident schedule signed by Lorain A Chamberlain declaring he is a resident of Pittsfield, Pike, IL on East Washington Street; he owns the house valued at $5,000 and that his nieces Helen K Abbott, 60 and Emily Rae Abbott, 58, are members of his household but live in Naples, Scott, IL; on this form Henry and Minna Abbott are named as the parents of Helen and Emily. The second 1940 census is dated 22 April 1940-IL-Scott-Naples-ED 86-14-sheet 61 A-lines 2-3-family 202-Helen K Abbott; 60; school C-2; b IL; no occupation; E Rae Abbott; sister; 58; school C-2; b IL; no occupation
