"Wardwell Found Innocent of Charge A Superior Court traverse jury returned a not guilty verdict Friday in the drunken driving trial of Harry R. Wardwell, 22, of 227 Danforth Street, arrested at Gorham last May 11. Testimony of five witnesses supported Wardwell's insistence that he was not under the influence of liquor when arrested by State Trooper Jerome Clifford. The state officer and Gorham constable Robert Junkins testified they arranged to have Wardwell driven home, but arrested him only when he drove himself." -Portland (Maine) Press Herald 16 September 1950
