HARRY SYLVESTER CASSMAN was born on 23 Mar 1866 at Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Harry's mother died in 1875 when he was nine. In 1880 when he was fourteen his father was living with Harry's uncle Oliver. None of the children are with him. It is not known where they went to live after their mother died. He appeared on the census of 1870 at Tippecanoe Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana.
He married ADA A. DOWNING, daughter of ISAAC EDWARD (EDDIE) DOWNING and REBECCA HICKS, in 1892 at Waverly, Pike County, Ohio. Harry and Ada had five children, first three sons, then two daughters. He was a Superintendent of an Artificial Ice company in 1900. He was a Railroad worker in the Roundhouse in 1910. He was a Machinist for the Monon Railroad in 1930.
He died on 14 Jun 1935 at Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, at age 69. He was buried in Rest Haven cemetery at Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana.
