"Harold A "Harry" Wells, 64, of 120 Orange Avenue, died about 4:20 AM today in his home after an illness. He retired in 1982 from the U.S. Postal Service in Mishawaka, where he worked for 28 years. He was born in July 28, 1922, in South Bend and was a lifetime area resident. On July 2, 1952, in South Bend, he married Barbara Norris, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Bill Wells of Mishawaka and Robert Wells of South Bend; two stepsons, Rudy Kovach and Robert Kovach, former Mishawaka mayor, both of Mishawaka; seven grandchildren, and three sisters, Esther Laure of Kalamazoo, Evadene McCormick of South Bend and Jeanette Stahl of Phoenix, Arizona. A brother, Richard, died in 1986.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 PM Wednesday and from 225 and 7 to 9 PM Thursday at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home. He was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County."
