Early Land Acquisition in Augusta County, VA

Michael Brock received a Northern Neck grant of 400 acres from Lord Fairfax for 40 shillings, on the South Fork of the North River of Shanando above the gap in the Mountain, and an annual payment of one shilling for every 50 acres, and cultivate and improve three acres of every 50-acre portion within three years, or he and his heirs fail to meet the conditions, the land could be reassigned.
