    Parenthetical comments indicate the Court record (presumably Salem Quarterly Court, used by the compilers) give a birth date of Aug. 31, 1662, and that the 1690 copy of the vital records made by Henry Short (S. dup) indicates Sept. 1, 1662. At the time the vital records book was compiled, the town record only indicated 1662.
