Maynard, Hannah, d. John and Mary, [born] Sept. 30, 1653. M.R.
Source:Cutter, William Richard. Genealogical and Personal Memoirs Relating to the Families of Boston and Eastern Massachusetts, p. 3:1626, places Hannah in the family of John Maynard and Mary Gates. But given that their marriage is recorded in 1658 (Cutter uses an incorrect date in 1648) and that Mary Gates was baptized in 1636 (Source:American Genealogist (D.L. Jacobus), p. 10:199), Hannah must be in the family of the father John Maynard and his 2nd wife Mary (---) Axtell. She was not mentioned in the will of her father dated 1672. Source:Crane, Ellery Bicknell. Historic Homes and Institutions and Genealogical and Personal Memoirs of Worcester County Massachusetts, p. 220, says she married Daniel Hudson of Lancaster, but it appears by all VRs to have been her sister Mary that married Daniel Maynard of Lancaster, and the marriage date of 1674 he gives was after the will mentioned above, suggesting Hannah was not even alive on this date.
