  6.   It is frequently reported that Hannah Damon, d/o John Damon and Martha Howland, married Benjamin Woodworth (e.g., see the note in NEHGR, p. 102:151). Mostly this seems to be the result of identifying parents of children, rather than a study of actual records. In any event, this apparently has been disproved (TAG, p. 32:203), though the details of Mr. Prindle's reasoning are not known. Perhaps it is the deed cited in the May Genealogy, which proves that the daughter of Martha Bacon, widow of John Damon, married John May, not Benjamin Woodworth. Further, no such marriage record of Benjamin Woodworth to Hannah Damon has been found in Scituate records (or elsewhere), while the marriages to John May and Preserved Hall are found in Hingham records. Some other Hannah married Benjamin Woodworth.
