Facts and Events
Two daughters named Hannah are recorded as being born in 1642; the first with a birth date of June 28 and the second with a birth date of August 28. Possible reasons for the two records are: The first may have been a twin born prematurely (who did not survive); The parents had another daughter Hannah who died just before the second Hannah's birth and the records were inaccurate; or the second record is a correction - the first date was an error. From the New England Historic Genealogical Society Register, Vol. 151 (January 1997) William and Mary Briggs of Boston and the Connecticut Valley With Notes on their Sons-in-Law John Harris and Wolston Brockway [Footnotes omitted] by Gale Ion Harris Details of the unburied daughter Hannah Briggs's history provide much of the information needed for an account of this family. The investigation summarized in this article confirms that she had two husbands - John Harris and Wolston Brockway - as Francis E. Brockway claimed in l890. At age fifteen, Hannah, "daughter of William Briggs of Boston," married John Harris there on 10 September 1657. Except for their marriage, the only mention of Hannah's husband John in Boston is a record of their son John's birth there in August 1658. References
