Some of the variants accepted by Source:Carlock, 1929 are based on records of the Palatinate Immigration in New York, and Pennsylvania, and may have been "forced", in order to make a genealogical connection. That is, while he identifies certain individual Carlocks under varying surnames in the Palatinate Records as corresponding to the Carlocks who settled in Virginia, he does not clearly show that these are the same persons.
