Gustave "Gus" Courrege owned the blacksmith shop in Vinton, Louisiana. He was also the town's volunteer fire chief for 38 years. He is remembered as a tall, strong man, admired by many people.

Marriage

Gus married his childhood sweetheart in 1919. She had been previously married to a Viator, who, according to family information, was Gus's cousin.
